 Trans Liberation Demonstration

On the 19th of April 2025, we helped to organise a major demonstration in central London which gathered at least 20,000 people following the Supreme Court ruling.

 Protest Overview

Following the Supreme Court ruling on the 16th of April 2025, many pro-trans organisations and trade unions mobilised to organise a demonstration in central London. The plan was simple - gather as many people as we can in Parliament Square, then march to St. James's Park. Little did we know that over 20,000 people would attend. Pride in Labour was a part of the organisation of this demonstration from the start, and we helped to coordinate the media coverage of the event beforehand and afterwards. Jamie Strudwick (Co-Chair of Pride in Labour) was the designated press officer for the event, and Avery Greatorex (Co-Chair of Pride in Labour) spoke to many media outlets including Channel 4 News and The Observer.

"Being a part of organising this incredible demonstration was one of the greatest honours of my life. It is still surreal and something I don't think I will ever get my head around. It was incredible, and I am truly grateful."

Jamie Strudwick (Co-Chair)
